CASE STUDY :

Meet Alex

My name’s Alessandra Cinquegrana (Alex for my English friends) and I’m originally from Italy. I moved to the UK nearly 11 years ago after studying a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science with Marketing Studies and kept on studying for a Master’s in London in Pharmaceutical Science with Management Studies. I have had Multiple Sclerosis for 20 years and the optic nerves were damaged nearly three years ago, causing blindness in my focus vision.

Acceptance has and still is the hardest part of the sight impairment. Some days it feels easier thanks to my family and friends, as well as the support I have had from the council, my employer and the huge change Berkshire Vision has brought into my life.

I now enjoy my passion which is nutrition, making recipes that boost the immune system (although it takes much longer nowadays), working out to strengthen my core, improve balance and mental health, and volunteering for Berkshire Vision.

The help and support I received were key and still allow me to live and love life and I wish to get back to enjoy more face to face activities at Berkshire Vision such as cooking, rock climbing, tandem cycling and skydiving.

Alex also has her own YouTube channel focusing on nutrition, click the button below to go to her channel.
