Our Strategy

Berkshire Vision is the working name of Berkshire County Blind Society, which was established in 1910 and has an organisational history stretching back over 100 years. It is an independent local charity, operating within Berkshire.

We are proud of our heritage and following our centenary decided to update the charity, so that we can continue our legacy of support with a new and dynamic image. As a continuation of our commitment to support visually impaired individuals across Berkshire, we have developed a strategy, which aims to enhance our Members’ lives and raise awareness of sight loss.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to give all visually impaired people independence through a safe and effective support service offered throughout Berkshire.

Our Purpose

Our Purpose is to enhance the lives of visually impaired people throughout Berkshire so that they can lead full and enriched lives with the support of our dedicated and committed staff and volunteer teams.

Our Values

Our Values are that we will always put the person at the centre of everything we do, to ensure that we are transparent and supportive. We strive to offer an innovative and effective service working in
partnership with organisations to meet the needs of visually impaired individuals and their families.
