COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – How Berkshire Vision is helping.

To our Members and our local community,

Due to the current situation with the outbreak of COVID-19, we have decided to temporarily suspend all of our upcoming events including sports, social activities and clubs until further notice. While we understand that this is difficult to hear for many of our Members – due to the importance Berkshire Vision places on social inclusion – we are following the advice of the government and the health authorities at this time. By temporarily suspending these groups, this reduces the risk of COVID-19 to our valued Members.

However, our staff are still hard at work in the background to enable us to still provide the best possible service for our Members and our local community. Our telephone is still in use 0118 987 2803 for support. We will also keep checking and responding to emails on info@berkshirevision.org.uk. Additionally, we will be liaising with local support groups to find out the best way we can continue to help.

Our remote sessions with everything from quizzes to discussions to coffee mornings are now active with more information here. It’s a way for our Members to stay connected in these difficult and potentially socially isolating times through phone, mobile or computer. Have an inspiring story to share or maybe think you’d make a great quizmaster, please contact us on info@berkshirevision.org.uk to get involved.

Any musicians out there who could do a singalong would be greatly appreciated.

Our one to one befriending scheme is going excellent, providing support and help to those in self-isolation. Thank you to everyone who is volunteering their time.

Our social media channels will be even more active over the coming weeks as we want to help our Members, and anyone else in the community, who may be struggling with the effects of COVID-19. So if you have access to the internet, please follow us on our Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram for more updates.

We’re working with other organisations in this time to best support our Members.
