It’s been nine months since we started our Eyes on our Futures project. So far, the project has supported people back into education, found voluntary posts and found work for people. We have spoken with people who aren’t sure what to do, people who’s confidence has been shaken by the pandemic and people who want to learn something new for the future.
A lot of emphasis has been put on the word “employability” which conjures up thoughts of employment and work for many people but employability means much more than that and the project goes far beyond finding people work.
Employability could be summed up the experience and skills that may benefit you should you wish to look for work, these can be many things and don’t necessarily mean you want to get in to paid work but the skills you earn could be good if you did! For example: changing how you present yourself, starting a hobby you’ve always wanted to try, learning a new skill, helping others. All of these things can increase your confidence and help you move your life forward.
It takes work on your part but as long as you’re willing to commit and support your journey yourself then we might be able to help you; if you’re wanting to try something new, give your time to support others, are thinking about returning to work – then get in touch with us
