Our Telephone Befriending Service
Berkshire Vision are looking for more telephone befriending volunteers.
Being visually impaired makes social distancing extremely difficult, returning to normal activities is not an option for some.
The telephone befriending service has had a significant impact on our Members’ lives and the requests to continue the service from Members and volunteers alike has been overwhelming.
So our telephone befriending service is as important as ever. If you can spare an hour once or twice a week to call one of our members, to have a chat, you will discover how rewarding it is to build a new friendship and help them feel less isolated. Our telephone befriending service will match you with a volunteer to call you each week (or however often works best for you) to make sure you have someone to talk to.
If you’d like to chat to someone about becoming a telephone befriender call us on 0118 987 2803 or email info@berkshirevision.org.uk
Our Telephone Befriending programme has been made possible in part from Global’s Make Some Noise Emergency Appeal, as part of the Government’s Community Match Challenge scheme. Thank you for their support.
